Ontology-based Representation of Compliance Requirements for Service Processes
نویسندگان
چکیده
Service processes are becoming increasingly essential in modern economies as traditional, production-oriented industries decline. When comparing service processes to standard business processes, a major distinction is that the quality of their result, i.e., the service produced, cannot be measured in advance. Therefore, the compliance of the service process with quality standards plays an important role in convincing the customer that the services rendered will result in the quality specified. However, the check for compliance is still a tedious task. To address this situation, an ontology-based approach for representing service processes and checking their compliance is proposed. It is based on two ontologies: one to represent the service processes and the other to store the compliance requirements. The process representation ontology uses three so-called views to appropriately represent the service processes. The ontology for storing the compliance requirements differentiates syntactic, semantic and pragmatic requirements.

Formal Specification of Web Service Contracts for Automated Negotiations and Compliance Checking
Service-oriented computing as a concept for providing interoperability and flexibility within heterogeneous environments has gained much attention within last years. Dynamically integrating external Web services into enterprise applications requires automatic contracting between service requestors and providers and automatic contract monitoring. This paper suggests semi-automatic approach since...
متن کاملMapping Legal Requirements to SLAs: An Ontology Based Approach for Cloud-based Service Consumption
This work presents a new approach to ensure compliance to legal regulation in Cloud Computing, especially in Software-as-a-Service. Since high demanding business sectors, such as the health care sector, require high legal certainty, when contracting services offered by external providers. We provide a lightweight ontological representation of the German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) and a ...
متن کاملOntology Guided Risk Analysis: From Informal Specifications to Formal Metrics
The level of compliance with security certification requirements is the primary driver of the decision to accredit a software system into operation with an acceptable level of risk. However, given the complexity of current software systems, numerous natural language Certification and Accreditation (C&A) requirements, and ad-hoc processes to assess compliance, this decision is often based on the...
متن کاملAn Ontology-Mapping Service for Agent-Based Automated Negotiation
The automation of B2B processes requires a high level of interoperability between potentially disparate systems. We model such systems using software agents (as enterprise’s representative agents), which interact using ACL protocols. This paper presents, in the context of an Electronic Institution, an ontology-mapping service that enables the automation of negotiation protocols where the involv...
متن کاملA model-driven approach to performance evaluation of ontology-based service composition
The DAML-based Web Service ontology is one of the major standards for modeling and description of distributed service composition. To analyze the performance of composite service processes specified in DAML-S gives the way to tell whether the process meet the performance requirements, and to choose the process with higher efficiency from those with similar function. In this paper, we propose a ...
